Hamas: Biden sells illusion with talk of Palestinian state
A member of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, Ezzat Al-Rishak, considered today (Saturday) that US President Joe Biden's talk about the possibility of a Palestinian state is nothing but a sell-out, and said that Biden is a "full partner" in the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
Biden is a full partner in the war of extermination, and our people do not expect anything good from him," Al-Rashsq said in a Telegram post. "Selling the illusion that Biden is trying to talk about a Palestinian state and its (patterns) does not fool our people.
"These people think they are the guardians of the Palestinian people and want to choose for them the type of state that suits them," he said, according to the Arab World News Agency.
The White House said yesterday (Friday) that Biden discussed by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu his vision for peace and a two-state solution while ensuring Israel's security, as well as Israel's responsibility to reduce civilian harm from the war in the Gaza Strip.
An informed source told CNN today (Saturday) that Biden and Netanyahu discussed the possible contours of a future Palestinian state "in detail and in earnest." The source said that Biden administration officials recently discussed the idea of establishing a demilitarized Palestinian state.
"After tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, the Palestinian people will uproot their state, in which they will live a free and generous life," Al-Sharq wrote in his post.
"Remember, the American speech 100 days ago was about post-Hamas Gaza, and today it's about post-Netanyahu [Israel]," he said.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today (Saturday) that 24,927 Palestinians were killed in total and 62,388 were injured in the Israeli strikes on the Strip since October 7.
